getting even
The one time that i was judged for appearance was a calm day up on Mt. Hood. There is a bitter rivalry between snowboarders and the skiers. Nether one likes the other and as long as you don't provoke the other there isn't really a problem. This day i had forgotten my goggles at home and the only pair we had was my moms old pair. The neon pink and yellow weren't exactly my colors but nothing was going to stop me from snowboarding. About halfway through the day i somehow got separated from my parents and was forced to ride the chairlift by myself. The teenage skiers that were on the chairlift were either high or drunk because they were having problems keeping control in the chairlift. One of them noticed my goggles and started teasing me. Later that day i saw them on a run and i came shooting out of the trees which knocked them all over and they started tumbling down the giant hill they were on. By the time they got to the bottom of the chairlift i was already far away from them. I don't know if it was the right approach, whether i should have gotten back at them, but who picks on a little kid. I never saw those teenagers again but i would consider us even.

I can relate to your story. Skiers and Snowboarders do not always get along and snowboarders seem to get the bad rap for it. In this case the skiers were in the wrong. I think you did the right thing in getting them back. The skiers would have get picking on people if you didnt do that. Your story was well written and you explained things very well. Nice Job
